This question has been "haunting" me for a couple days now, but I guess it's Holloween. Here's a question that I think is a somewhat good topic to talk about. You do not have to answer this journal(or the next updated one) if you don't have time or don't want to express you opinion (or if you don't like me for some reason, I guess, ). Anyway, this is a question that is mostly directed at Sailor Moon, but I guess it can be applied to any show. Here's the question:

Which one has more power and energy (stronger-not physically though) - an older super hero/heroine (Age: 13+), or a younger super hero/heoine (Age: birth-13). ("Super-" meaning having unatural powers. Not like super strength or anything).

Think about it...Just answer with either "an older superhero/Heroine" or with "a younger Superhero/Heroine". DO NOT explain your answer just yet. All you have to do is answer with one of those above answers. In the next journal is where you can explain WHY you think so, and you've got to back it up with EXAMPLES (*groans* right?) and not just say "because". I will explain my answer and examples in the next Updated journal, but for now just go ahead and answer the question. I don't think there is a definite right or wrong answer, this is a question that gets you thinking and expresses your opinion. So, don't be shy do express yours.

So, which is stronger?

So, why is it that the younger heroes’/heroines’(such as the young children younger than 13) powers are as strong as or stronger than the older heroes’/heroines’ powers?

My Answer: I want to say the young children have more power because they represent life itself and have a bounty of energy balled up in them. I want to say they show these because they are “new“ (“new“ being young and not “worn-out“. Youth power is strong, and as they grow older, their powers may weaken because they don‘t have that “new“ energy they once had, but they can regain their strength with practice and experience. But, I don‘t think it‘s the children themselves who are stronger than the experienced heroes. Picture this form of energy that is many times stronger than any of the older heroes. Now, picture this energy taking a form as a child. The young “hero” is stronger, but it’s the energy itself that is strong, not the child because the energy has taken over a child or has taken the form as one. I guess another way to put it is where the older heroes are stronger, but the stronger power itself represents itself with a child form-whereas the child him-/herself isn‘t strong, it‘s just a form of strong energy. So, I guess, between the older and younger heroes, the older ones would have to be stronger, as you can see with Sailor Moon that she defeats all of the enemies that confront her. At times she needs help from the others, but the others as the same age as her and just as strong. (But if I had to choose among the older, younger, and the energy that takes form as a child, I would have to choose the energy).

Example:

Sailor Saturn - The first episode of Season 5 (episode 167) featured Sailor Saturn as a baby. As she was about to get attacked, her power was awakened, and she not only destroyed the mirror parody figure/doll/whatever monster that was, but at the same time also gave Sailor Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto their new powers. If it wasn’t for Saturn, then Sailor Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto would have not gotten their new more powerful attacks, their new transformations, or they probably wouldn’t be alive. You know anything could have happened. But it could have just been “Saturn’s power”(the strong power that can destroy planets) all along, instead of youth power. Saturn’s power could have been given to anyone who was supposed to be Sailor Saturn, not just Hotaru. So, Hotaru in a sense was not born with it to where she built up the power to get stronger, but it was passed down to her because she was the “heir” to the Saturn “throne”, I guess. The Saturn power is powerful because it was already powerful in the first place. Hotaru never fought any battles to build this power up, it was just passed down to her with the strength already there (She just needed to know how to use it properly). I’ll give you another example.

Sailor Chibi-Chibi - In episode 187, Sailor Moon gets attacked and her star seed almost taken. Chibi-Chibi then grabs her tier, and her “Light of Hope” power reacts with Sailor Moon’s power. Chibi-Chibi then gives Sailor Moon power to unlock her last attack and implied to be her strongest. It’s that the Light of Hope is represents itself as a child. The light doesn’t show how strong the child is(the child is not strong), but instead the light shows power through a child form. [link]
(A little hard to put my reasoning into words and write it out, but I think you should see where I‘m going.)

I think it’s interesting how the producers make the heroines with the strongest powers be represented by such a young age. I mean, take Chibi-Chibi for instance. Who would think this lil’ girl would save the whole universe from the evil Galaxia? (at least she was supposed to, but Sailor Moon never used the energy properly. If she did, Galaxia would have been dead, but violence never solves anything, as Sailor Moon rescues her from her evil pit and ending the season with an “everybody wins” attitude.) But remember, it’s not a real girl, it’s just energy in a form of a girl. Look at how Sailor Galaxia(before she “spoiled” released her star seed, and it takes on many forms. A butterfly to represent beauty and delicacy; a distinct scent/warmth to represent comfort; a sword to represent power, courage and strength; a the light itself or powerful energy to represent hope, salvation, and peace; and finally a child(Chibi-Chibi) to represent innocence, youth, and acceptance among anyone/everyone.
